Active involvement in a number of research projects in addition to his orthopedic surgical responsibilities. Published extensively in the field of orthopedics.

Member of several International Orthopedic Societies and has organized international congresses on the research and utilization of Bone Morphogenic Proteins.

Has completed her doctorate thesis in the field of molecular genetics and biology at the University of Bielefeld, Germany.

As part of her research, Dr. Birr developed a method for isolating the enzyme lysozyme from bacteria. This method was subsequently patented by Hoechst AG and is now used in the food industry.

Has been a Researcher at the University of Oulu since 1993, where she has been studying the morphogenic proteins of reindeer antler.

Joined BBS in 2005 as a GMP specialist

Has extensive work experience since 1983 in the pharma industry

Has strong expertise in the Quality Systems of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients. He has hosted seven US FDA inspections in the API plants and conducted many material and equipment supplier audits in EU countries, Switzerland, USA and Puerto Rico.

Mikko Viitanen, M.Sc. (Biochem., Eng.)

Has participated in several research projects in the Universities of Oulu and Helsinki, where he gained his special know-how in fermentation processes, protein chemistry and analytical methods, especially immunological methods.
